PAOLI Pa., Jul. 24, 2006 - Intellisophic, Inc., the leading publisher of taxonomic content, announced today support for NetOwl text mining software from SRA International, Inc. (NYSE: SRX). Support for SRA's NetOwl is now available for all Intellisophic data products. As a result of coordinated technical efforts between Intellisophic and SRA, NetOwl customers can immediately import any of the thousands of authoritative taxonomies from within Intellisophic's library.
Taxonomies have been proven to significantly enhance precision of most text analytics applications such as search, extraction and categorization. However, creating and maintaining detailed taxonomies for most companies is hard, time consuming and tedious work. Intellisophic has developed a library of highly-granular taxonomies which include rules (training sets) that cover virtually any subject. Over 30,000 individual taxonomies are available from within the Intellisophic library covering almost every subject area and/or vertical market including:
Accounting, Architecture, Automotive, Biology, Business, Chemistry, ChemBio Weapons, Diseases, Economics, Energy, Engineering, Explosives, Financial Services, Information Sciences, Legal, Life Sciences, Manufacturing, Medicine, Nuclear, Physics, Psychology, Terrorism, WMD, Weapons and many more.
SRA's clients in government, defense and life sciences will be able to access the vast collection of subject area taxonomies, directories, thesauri and vocabularies to pre-populate key terminology and accelerate the NetOwl application implementation. "Intellisophic's highly detailed, subject-specific terms sets will help expedite the vocabulary development phase and enrich our client's user experience. We are very pleased to be working with them," states Dr. Chinatsu Aone, SRA vice president and Director of Natural Language Technologies.
In addition to NetOwl, Intellisophic offers taxonomies in a variety of industry standard and vendor specific formats; already on Intellisophic's list of supported formats are EMC CIS, Inxight, SchemaLogic, Arikus, and DataLever, as well as TopicMap (XTM), OWL, and RTF.
"SRA's NetOwl application is widely implemented in several of our key market areas; especially Government and Life Sciences," states Michael Hoey, chief executive officer of Intellisophic. "We are very excited to supply our taxonomies in their format to speed project timelines and quickly deliver value."
